A new perspective on machining
Machining large products on gantry machines often presents visibility challenges for operators working from a fixed control panel. To overcome this, we are introducing a key upgrade to our UNIPORT6000 range: the Travelling Operator Platform. This innovation allows operators to get closer to the machining process, improving visibility, usability, and safety. The functionality is also available for the UNIPORT7000 and UNIPORT6000-HV machines.
Operator platform: moving with the gantry bridge
The travelling operator platform is connected to the right-hand column of the moving gantry bridge, allowing operators to observe machining operations directly near the tool. The standard control panel with CNC controls is relocated to the platform, enabling full machine operation from this new vantage point. A sliding door integrated into the platform’s guarding system allows direct access to the machine table, making adjustments and maintenance tasks more convenient.
Safety and ease of use
The operator platform has been designed with safety as a top priority and is fully integrated in the machining safety sytem. To ensure maximum safety, the machine’s rapid traverse speeds and acceleration/deceleration rates are automatically reduced to acceptable values while it is operated from the platform.
Specifications and additional benefits
The travelling operator platform is not only practical but also robustly designed. Key specifications include:
- Height: 2,150 mm
- Step Height: 250 mm above floor level
- Maximum Load Capacity: 150 kg
Better visibility, greater control
With the travelling operator platform, we are redefining gantry machine functionality. By offering operators improved visibility and control, this innovation boosts efficiency, safety, and operator comfort. It simplifies complex machining processes and delivers an enhanced work experience for operators.
